Venue
While the main Caravan Park (Mandurah Caravan & Tourist Park) has been fully booked, additional caravan parks are located in and around Mandurah – contact www.visitmandurah.com.au
Think of the 2024 National Rally as a very large Odyssey.
We have a base at the caravan park, a dinner, a meetings venue, a variety of daily rides, food, and entertainment. The rest is up to you.
Rally Venue
The caravan park will provide all the infrastructure we require for caravanning and camping.
We will also arrange for
- coffee trucks in the morning - some will serve breakfast.
- food vans each evening – rotated to vary the food types available.
- music each evening
- BYO alcohol or on sale from the Caravan Park bar
The park owners at the main site, Mandurah Caravan & Tourist Park are willing to give us exclusive use of the site for the Rally, however this park is now fully booked. Additional caravan parks are located in and around Mandurah - contact www.visitmandurah.com.au
Disabled Access
The Check-in, Meeting and Rally Dinner venues all have disabled access.
Security
You will need to take the same precautions as you would when staying in any caravan park.
We will not be providing security guards overnight.
Members coming to stay on site will be checked off the registration list at the entry gate before they will be allowed to enter and set up – no pay = no enter and potential loss of your site payment.
Access to the dinner is restricted to members who have paid the registration fee.
Please do the right thing and share the financial costs of the event by registering for the rally.
Information - Rally Handbook
A QR code is available, and this will enable you to access the live Rally handbook and find details of all aspects of the rally. The handbook will be progressively updated from now on.
Information will also be provided in the Club newsletter Intercom. https://bit.ly/NatRally24

If you have some members who are not tech savvy, then help them out by printing a copy of the handbook for them.
Questions
The Rally Handbook has an extensive list of FAQ (frequently asked questions and answers) so please have a look there first.
If you cannot find the answer to your questions then email [email protected] and we will answer you as soon as possible.
Rally HQ
This will be based in Cottage TWO at the caravan park – just inside the park entrance.
Check-in & Commemorative Gear collection
Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th March – Pinjarra Civic Centre 18km east of the Caravan Park.
Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd – will relocate to Cottage TWO at the caravan park.
National Rally Dinner
Greyhounds WA club in Mandurah will be the venue. A shuttle bus will collect members from the caravan park and some other accommodation sites depending on numbers. Book a bus ticket on the registration form.
Special dietary requirements will be catered for – note your requirements on the rally registration form.
The Rally dinner theme will be Heroes & Villains so come dressed as your favourite good, or bad, gal/guy. Superheroes or real life – you choose.
Rides
Escorted and self-guided rides will be run each day - route notes will be available at HQ.
We will also run some coffee rides for those who just want a look around the region.
Numbers may be limited on some rides to avoid overwhelming the catering venues
Dogs
Dogs will be permitted on site at the caravan park however they must, always, be either on a leash, or in a secure caged compound at your campsite.
Dog found wandering loose may be offered to local cray fishermen as bait.
Your Bike
A round trip from NSW to WA, and back, is about 8,400km so it is not an enterprise to be undertaken lightly. Your bike and tyres must all be in top mechanical condition.
Please take time to read the excellent article written by late member Mike Smith - this is in the Rally handbook and provides tips for preparation and planning for riding across the Nullarbor. We want you to make it home safely.
Speed Limit in WA - open road not towing 110kph. All towing vehicles 100kph.
The Eucla Police patrols have a habit of setting two speed traps about 5 km to 10km apart so don’t get caught.
Tours
Contact the Mandurah Visitor Centre to find out what tours are available in the region.
They have the information at hand and will do a far better job helping you than we could ever hope to do. Book and pay directly with the Visitor Centre.
www.visitmandurah.com
No Gear Shop
The cost of freight to and from WA will most likely take all of the profit from any gear sales. A lot of work for no benefit.
Easier to buy your club gear online and not have to carry it home on your bike.
No Motorcycle displays
We will be negotiating with local dealers in Mandurah and Rockingham, to encourage them to run an events such as manufacturer sponsored sausage sizzles, at their retail premises.
We hope to have a different dealer do this each day.
This will provide members with a much wider variety of motorcycles and gear than we could ever manage to get on site, plus you will hopefully get a free feed in the morning.
No Grand Parade
The cost of traffic management plans is now becoming prohibitive and there are limitations on the use of volunteers to control traffic.
No Traders
Lack of interest by any businesses means that we will not have any traders onsite.
We are confident that everyone will have a Great Adventure getting to WA and will enjoy what the region has to offer by way of food, drink, and sightseeing.
Take the time to look around the southwest on your way there or when heading home.
