The National Committee sadly advises members of the passing of Robert (Bob) McDonald, 21010 Life Member
Since joining the Ulysses Club in July 2000, Bob worked tirelessly for the Club beginning with his participation on the Townsville Branch Committee, and later heading the 2008 Townsville AGM Event Committee as Event Director. Bob’s aptitude and dedication saw this event reworked and ultimately brought to fruition in a record six month timeframe, following the resignation of the previous Director.
A short time after the successful conclusion of this event, Bob requested the then National AGM Event Director, Graeme Rule give him “something to do” and so the role of National Sponsorship Coordinator was created as an ex-Officio position to the National Committee. Since assuming that role, Bob, ably supported by his wife Joy worked endlessly on many projects and agreements to ensure that not only Club AGM Event costs are offset through sponsorship, but that the day to day operations of the Club are supported through mutually-beneficial agreements with suppliers, advertisers and sponsors.
Since his accidental AGM Event Directorship began in late 2007, and throughout his tenure as National Sponsorship Coordinator, Bob consistently and tirelessly rendered outstanding service to the Club at National level. His service was recognised with a Life membership.
