Ian Winter #53026 stepped up to take the role of UCARF coordinator. As you know, this role has been Kim Kennerson’s role for many years, and Kim has expressed confidence and appreciation for Ian for taking on the role. The National Committee is very appreciative for Kim’s service and dedication, and announced that Kim will be presented with a plaque as a show of our appreciation on behalf of all members for his work in raising awareness and funds for UCARF.
Thankyou to those members who registered and attended the AGM.
The Hills Branch once again undertook the role of scrutineering for the AGM in a very efficient and professional manner, with Chris Bell #30807 fulfilling the role of Returning Officer.
Gary Vandersluis #186, Life Member stepped in at the last moment to be the Presiding Officer at the AGM, as Kim Kennerson #6929, Life Member, was unable to attend due to illness. The National Committee is appreciative of the support given.
The National Committee would also like to thank the members of the Orange Branch, who organised rides, including the Not so grand parade, at which hardy members gathered to view a display of historic bikes, and then brave the cold for the ride.
Members had a great time at the Saturday night dinner, with Gavin “Snake” Martin providing his MC services, and who donated his fee to UCARF, a very generous offer. Thanks Snake.
Fundraising for UCARF continued at the dinner, with one member winning a fantastic collection of gourmet food which showcased the best of the Orange region, patched were sold and the very popular Ulysses Club Cookies were purchased. Thanks Linda (at the National Administration Office) for all your baking. Also thanks to Lee Cook #17651 of Orange Branch for organising the goodies for the raffle, and then staying to help sell tickets.
On Sunday morning, with the temperature at -4, members rugged up and rode to Sunday breakfast and coffee at Lake Canobolas, organised by the Orange Branch. The frost melted, the sun came out and the breakfast provided by Rotary warmed us up.
