Seasons greetings from Ulysses Club of Switzerland
On behalf of the committee and the members of the Swiss chapter I wish to extend to all Ulysseans and their families our best wishes for the coming festive season and the very best for 2021. Stay safe and stay well.
The year that was:
Caught up in the COVID-19 outbreak in Europe earlier this year and coinciding with the start of the motorcycling season, our annual programme was subject to continuous changes or short notice adaptations throughout 2020.
As we ducked in and out of corona related restrictions throughout Europe we were still able to squeeze in a good number of memorable outings in Switzerland and to the neighbouring countries of Italy, France, Austria and Germany. In August 2020, during a regional lull in the severity of pandemic many of our members joined our German friends for their annual rally in the German Eiffel region. A grand time was had by all.
Unfortunately, one of the highlights in our calendar the participation in the 11th European Gathering in Norway (19-22 June 2020) fell victim to the current pandemic. It is now scheduled to take place 2021. Consequently, the date of the 12th European Gathering to be organised by the Swiss chapter in Leysin, Switzerland in 2021 has been rescheduled for 2022.
On another note, Wolfgang Tomasitz one of the Swiss chapter's founding fathers has returned back into the folds of the Swiss chapter after a lengthy absence. While overseas he has been instrumental in the establishing and presiding the International Ulysses Chapter of Cuba. Sadly, after a few years the project had to be abandoned due to administrative obstacles.
On behalf of the committee and the members of the Ulysses Club Switzerland I wish to extend to all Ulysseans our best wishes for the coming festive season and the very best for 2021. Stay safe.
